AI chatbot for sustainability and the circular economy

With Zü-Re, an AI chatbot was developed for the City of Zurich that helps users find sustainable offers and services in the city. The focus is particularly on topics related to the circular economy, reuse, and repair.

The chatbot helps users quickly and easily discover suitable shops, repair workshops, sharing offers, and sustainable points of contact. This makes the City of Zurich's existing offering more digitally accessible and intuitive to search.

Curated data for reliable answers

To ensure that the recommendations meet the quality standards of the City of Zurich, the AI relies exclusively on curated and verified information sources. This content can be continuously updated and expanded via a central backend.

If the system is not sufficiently certain about a query, it does not provide potentially incorrect information. Instead, the chatbot transparently indicates that no reliable answer is currently available. This keeps communication traceable, controllable, and trustworthy.

Feedback for continuous improvement

Users can rate answers directly and also leave their own feedback. This feedback, along with selected chat histories, is regularly evaluated in order to continuously improve the quality of the AI chatbot.

This makes it possible to identify unclear answers, missing content, and new information needs at an early stage and incorporate them specifically into the further development of the platform.
